CCNP certification indicates that you have advanced, or 'journeyman' knowledge of Cisco networks. A CCNP, or Cisco Certified Network Professional, is certified to install, configure, and operate LAN, WAN, and dial access services for organizations with networks from 100 to more than 500 nodes. A CCNP is qualified to build routed networks and campus networks using multilayer switching technologies; improve traffic flow and performance for campus LANs, routed and switched WANs, and remote access networks; create and deploy a global intranet; and troubleshoot in environments that use Cisco routers and switches.

There are training courses for CCNP certification that are designed to teach you the job-related tasks of performing support for new or modified Cisco systems, and the necessary knowledge and skills needed to support these Cisco based networks. You have to have already required your CCNA certification in order to register for CCNP certification training courses.
